Produced by C&R with artist Seohye Le and deafblind charity Sense. Descriptive Realities is a sound work, especially created for Birmingham Weekender. Inspired by the everyday listening experiences of those with profound sensory loss this artwork highlights issues faced by the deafblind community in everyday environments such as domestic settings and public transport. 3D audio, Augmented Reality and Audio Description were used to shed light on our diverse listening experience. Drawing on Seohye's own hearing impairment and perception of sound this piece plays with the mysterious, evocative and sometimes confusing world produced by our eyes and ears. A continuation of a longterm collaboration with Sense, this project involved working with deafblind people from residential homes in the Midlands area.
